Hong Kong has something for every traveler. From bustling markets and lively neighborhoods to laid-back islands and green hills. You can enjoy street food, spend a day at Hong Kong Disneyland or travel by cable car to the Big Buddha. With well-regulated public transportation, you can easily explore the city and see many different sides of Hong Kong in a short time.
A vacation to Hong Kong combines city, culture and nature in a special way. You will experience the famous skyline from Victoria Peak, walk through historic temples and find peace on islands such as Lantau and Lamma. This makes this metropolis attractive to both couples and families looking for a varied trip.
Sightseeing
In Hong Kong, you will find a mix of modern highlights and traditional spots. These sights will show you the versatility of the city.
Victoria Peak
From Victoria Peak you have the best view of the skyline, the harbor and the surrounding islands. You can reach the top by the special Peak Tram or by a bus ride that takes you along the hills.
Florivida tip: go later in the day so you can experience both the daylight view and the mesmerizing sunset.
Star Ferry & Victoria Harbour
The ferry between Kowloon and Hong Kong Island is one of the cheapest and most enjoyable ways to see the city from the water. As you cross, you can see the skyscrapers on both sides of the harbor. At night there is the ’Symphony of Lights,‘ where buildings along the harbor participate in an impressive light show.
Tian Tan Buddha (Big Buddha)
On Lantau Island stands the imposing bronze Buddha more than 30 meters high. You reach the spot via a cable car with views of green mountains and sea. Next to the Big Buddha is the Po Lin Monastery, a peaceful spot in the middle of nature, where you can admire colorful temple halls and incense spirals.
Wong Tai Sin Temple & Man Mo Temple
Those who want to see the traditional side of the city can't forget the temples! The Wong Tai Sin Temple is famous for divination and colorful architecture. The Man Mo Temple on Hong Kong Island is smaller but impressive for its many incense spirals and relaxed atmosphere.

Hong Kong Disneyland
On Lantau Island is Hong Kong Disneyland, a park that combines classic Disney magic with Asian influences. The park is more compactly built than American parks, making it easy to move from one themed area to another. Ideal for a day visit, but those who want to explore everything at a leisurely pace would be better off taking two days.
- Attractions and themed areas - Classics such as It's a Small World and Space Mountain, plus unique attractions such as Mystic Manor and World of Frozen.
- Shows and parades - There are daily shows, parades and fireworks at the castle, with the evening show ending the day.
- Practical Tips - By MTR (Mass Transit Railway), you can travel from downtown to the park in about 30 minutes. Florivida will help you arrange tickets and, if you wish, an overnight stay at one of the Disney hotels near the resort.
- Meeting Characters - In addition to Mickey and Minnie, here you will also meet Duffy & Friends, who are hugely popular in Asia. Their cuddly looks and exclusive merchandise make them a real must-see for Disney fans.
- Disney hotels - Overnight accommodations are available right at the resort, such as Disney's Hollywood Hotel or the luxurious Disneyland Hotel.

Food & markets
Food is a big part of the culture in Hong Kong. In this city you will find a mix of street food, local eateries and upscale restaurants. On almost every street corner is a stall where you can order and try dumplings, siu mai or the famous egg waffles.
Besides street food, Hong Kong's markets are an experience in themselves. The Temple Street Night Market and the Ladies’ Market are the most famous, where food is combined with stalls full of clothes, souvenirs and electronics. You walk among locals and tourists and can enjoy various delicacies along the way.
If you want to experience traditional Hong Kong cuisine, sit down at a dai pai dong: a simple, open-air food stall. Here you order classic dishes at a plastic table and experience the city as the locals do. And of course don't miss dim sum: small bites you share with tea, a tradition that has made Hong Kong world famous.
Hotels
In Hong Kong, you'll find hotels of all shapes and sizes. From luxury five-star resorts where you don't have to think about anything, to economical hotels in the city, there is always a stay that suits you.
