Cities not to be missed
New York is many travelers' first introduction to the United States. The city that never sleeps is bursting with iconic sites such as Times Square, Central Park and the Statue of Liberty. Stroll across the Brooklyn Bridge, explore the museums along Fifth Avenue or enjoy the view from the Empire State Building.
New York is ideal to combine with a trip to Florida, but also during a city break to New York you have all the time you need to explore this city.
On the west coast lies Los Angeles , the heart of the film industry and home of Hollywood. Combine a visit to the Walk of Fame or Santa Monica Pier with a relaxing afternoon at Venice Beach. This city is all about creativity, sunshine and a touch of glamour.
Completely different is Las Vegas, a city in the middle of the desert that comes alive at night. The Las Vegas Strip is famous for its spectacular hotels, fountains and shows. During the day you can shop, take a helicopter ride over the Grand Canyon or simply experience the energy of this unique city.
Also Miami should not be missed. South Beach's colorful Art Deco buildings, tropical atmosphere and mix of cultures give the city its recognizable charm. Explore Little Havana, enjoy the beach or sample local cuisine on Ocean Drive.
And of course there is San Francisco, a city of character and contrasts. The Golden Gate Bridge, steep streets and old cable cars give the city a unique feel. Visit Fisherman's Wharf, take a boat ride to Alcatraz Or enjoy the view from Twin Peaks.
Florida: beach & theme parks
Beaches in Florida
Florida is the place for anyone who wants to enjoy a sun vacation but also likes to explore. During a tour of Florida effortlessly combine relaxing beach days with lively cities and extraordinary nature.
On the east coast you will find lively Miami Beach, known for its wide promenade and colorful buildings. On the west coast are quiet gems like Clearwater Beach and Siesta Key, with white sand and clear waters. And those seeking a truly tropical feel, travel on to the The Florida Keys, an archipelago with palm trees, snorkeling spots and a relaxed atmosphere.
Theme parks in Orlando
Orlando is known worldwide as the capital of theme parks. In Walt Disney World discover four theme parks - Magic Kingdom, EPCOT, Disney's Hollywood Studios and Disney's Animal Kingdom - plus two water parks, Blizzard Beach and Typhoon Lagoon. Each park has its own atmosphere and attractions, from fairytale castles to futuristic worlds.

Nature in the US
The west coast of the United States is known for its impressive natural parks. Red rock formations, deep gorges and vast desert landscapes make this region one of the most beautiful areas to explore during your trip.
Arizona is home to the world-famous Grand Canyon, a natural wonder you definitely can't miss while visiting the American West Coast. The gigantic gorge, carved by the Colorado River, offers numerous viewpoints and hiking trails. In the same area you will also find Monument Valley, on the border with Utah. This iconic landscape of tall red rocks is often seen in movies, making it one of the most recognizable landscapes in the United States.
Utah is known for its impressive national parks. In Zion National Park you hike through narrow gorges, along rivers and over steep mountain trails with beautiful views. A little further on is Bryce Canyon, famous for its extraordinary rock formations, called hoodoos. Especially at sunrise or sunset, the landscape here turns the most beautiful shades of orange and red.
California also has a treasure trove of nature. In Sequoia National Park, you hike among giant redwood trees, some older than two thousand years. Not far away is Yosemite National Park, with impressive waterfalls, granite cliffs and viewpoints such as Glacier Point. California combines coast, mountains and forests, making any West Coast tour extra diverse.

Practical tips & information
ESTA application - An ESTA is required for almost every traveler: an electronic travel authorization that you apply for online before leaving for America. Arrange this well in advance to avoid stress. When you book a trip with Florivida, you will easily receive a guide for the ESTA application from us!
Flight time and time difference - To New York you fly about 8 hours, to Florida about 10 hours and to the West Coast (Los Angeles or San Francisco) 11 to 12 hours. The exact travel time depends on the airline you choose and whether you have a direct flight or a layover. With a transfer, the total travel time can of course be a bit longer. The time difference varies from 6 to 9 hours earlier than in the Netherlands.
Best travel time - The best period varies by region. The East Coast is ideal in spring and fall, Florida is sunny all year (but has a rainy season in summer), and the West Coast is most beautiful from May to October.
Currency - In the United States, you pay with the U.S. dollar (USD). A credit card is essential for most purchases, such as hotel bookings, car rentals and entrance tickets. In many cases, a Dutch debit card does not work or is not accepted. Therefore, always take a credit card with you and also make sure you have some cash for tips and small expenses.
Travel on site - The roads in the United States are excellent for road trips. In addition, there are many domestic flights and you can use subways, trains, buses, cabs and Ubers in large cities. Should you want a rental car for your (round) trip, Florivida can easily arrange this for you. This way you can discover even more of this beautiful country.
