DID YOU KNOW THAT...?

Mystic Manor
Does not have ghosts or spirits, as that is considered inappropriate in many Asian cultures.
3 Languages
The park has the most languages in shows and signage of any Disney park: Cantonese, Mandarin and English.
Superheroes
Hong Kong Disneyland was the first Disney park in the world to feature a full Marvel attraction
Feng Shui
Played a major role in the design of the park, with strategically placed paths and entrances for good energy.
The renovated castle

Hong Kong Disneyland began in 2005 with the smallest Disney castle in the world, based on Sleeping Beauty Castle in Anaheim. In 2020, it was completely rebuilt into the impressive Castle of Magical Dreams, featuring elements of 13 different Disney princesses and heroines. It is the only Disney castle ever completely rebuilt, and now also serves as the backdrop for the spectacular evening show Momentous.

The advance of Duffy

Duffy began as a relatively unknown teddy bear in the Disney parks, but grew to become a real crowd pleaser in Asia. He now has an entire group of friends, including ShellieMay, Gelatoni and StellaLou, and often gets long lines for his meet-and-greets. For many local fans, a visit to the park is not complete without a photo with Duffy or one of his Friends.

Frequently asked questions about Hong Kong Disneyland

Hong Kong Disneyland combines familiar Disney magic with Asian influences such as feng shui in the park design, multilingual castmembers (Cantonese, Mandarin and English) and unique attractions you won't find anywhere else. The iconic Mystic Manor replaces the traditional haunted house concept and is full of humor and innovative effects. In addition, Hong Kong Disneyland is home to the world's first World of Frozen area and you'll find the exclusive Iron Man Experience. Thanks to its compact layout, the park is manageable and doable in one or two days without compromising on experience.

The park is located on Lantau Island, about a 30-minute drive from Hong Kong International Airport. By public transportation, take the MTR (subway) to Sunny Bay Station and transfer to the Disneyland Resort Line. This train has Mickey-shaped windows and Disney figurines in the compartments, so your vacation spirit starts during the journey. From downtown Hong Kong it takes about 40-50 minutes. Cabs are also an option, especially if you are traveling with luggage or coming directly from the airport.

Yes, instead of the old free FASTPASS-system, Hong Kong Disneyland is now using Disney Premier Access. This allows you to purchase priority access to popular attractions such as Mystic Manor, Big Grizzly Mountain Runaway Mine Cars and Frozen Ever After through the official app or authorized partners. This saves waiting time, especially during busy periods such as Chinese New Year or school vacations. Premier Access can be purchased by attraction or in bundles and can be purchased on the day as long as there is availability.

Yes, this is highly recommended. Tickets are priced in three tiers (Tier 1, 2 and 3) based on expected crowds. At Florivida, we arrange your tickets to Hong Kong Disneyland and they are almost always included with our package tours, along with hotel accommodations and other transportation. That way you have everything taken care of at once and can enjoy right away without worrying about availability.

The most pleasant months are October-November and March-April, when temperatures are mild and humidity is lower. If possible, avoid peak periods such as Chinese New Year, Golden Week (early October) and the Tuen Ng Festival (May/June), when the park is considerably busier. Summer is hot and humid, but on the other hand, the park is often open longer and offers more evening entertainment.

Yes, almost all restaurants offer international cuisine; there are also options for vegetarians, vegans and halal. For example, the Explorers Club Restaurant serves a variety of Asian cuisines, while quick-service locations often offer Western comfort food. You'll also find unique Disney snacks such as Mickey-shaped dim sum and seasonal treats. World of Frozen even offers special blue soft-serve ice creams and warm cinnamon rolls.

You can do most of the major attractions in one day, but for a leisurely pace and to fully experience all the shows, parades and themed areas, we recommend two days. This also gives you a chance to enjoy the entertainment and restaurants without rushing, and to do popular attractions multiple times. With a stay at one of the Hong Kong Disneyland Resort Hotels you also benefit from extra magic and early access to the park.

Duffy the Disney Bear is a teddy bear given by Mickey Mouse as a gift to Minnie for her travels. In Hong Kong Disneyland and other Asian parks, Duffy is wildly popular, often even more so than Mickey himself. He has a group of friends, including ShellieMay, Gelatoni and StellaLou, and can be met at special meet-and-greets. Stores carry countless Duffy merchandise, from soft toys to accessories, often available exclusively in Asia.

World of Frozen is the world's first themed area dedicated entirely to the world of Disney's Frozen films. Here you walk through Arendelle, complete with snowy mountain peaks, colorful Norwegian houses and atmospheric music. The area has two major attractions: Frozen Ever After, a boat ride past famous scenes, and Wandering Oaken's Sliding Sleighs, a family roller coaster through the hills. You will also find themed stores, unique snacks such as blue soft-serve ice cream and photo opportunities with the characters.

Feng shui is a traditional Chinese philosophy about harmony and energy flow. In Hong Kong Disneyland has been deliberately applied to attract good fortune and prosperity. For example, paths at the entrance are curved to hold positive energy, the number 4 is missing from some hotel flors because of its negative connotation, and water features are strategically placed for prosperity. Even during construction, rituals, such as burning incense, were performed to bring good energy to the park.
