Orlando is best known for its major theme parks such as Walt Disney World, Universal Orlando Resort and SeaWorld Orlando. In addition, you can store in outlet malls, eat and go out in areas such as Disney Springs and CityWalk, explore nature around lakes and parks or take a day trip to the beaches on Florida's east or west coast.
Orlando is located in the Eastern Time Zone. It is usually six hours earlier there than in the Netherlands. During our summer time, this can temporarily be a five-hour difference.
Walt Disney World is officially located in the Orlando area. Some of the hotels and access roads are located in Kissimmee, but the resort itself is globally referred to as Walt Disney World Orlando.
For adults, Universal Orlando Resort and certain Disney parks are especially popular, such as EPCOT and Disney's Hollywood Studios. These parks offer many roller coasters, shows, restaurants and events that are very appealing even without children.
For a first introduction to Orlando, at least a week is recommended. If you want to combine several theme parks and also explore the surrounding area, two weeks is ideal.
Spring and fall are popular for their pleasant weather and relatively lower crowds. Summer is warmer and busier, while December is popular for its atmospheric seasonal events.
Yes. Orlando offers many adult experiences such as attractions, shows, restaurants, wellness and entertainment. There are also adults-only zones in some parks and resorts.
