DID YOU KNOW THAT...?

Parades
The park has the widest parade route of any Disney park, specially designed to accommodate larger floats and more crowds.
TRON Lightcycle Power Run
The attraction in Shanghai was the first TRON roller coaster worldwide; the version at Walt Disney World in Florida followed only later.
Voyage to the Crystal Grotto
In this attraction, you literally sail under the Enchanted Storybook Castle, passing scenes from Disney films.
Garden of the Twelve Friends
Here the animals of the Chinese zodiac are depicted as Disney and Pixar characters, such as Remy (rat), Tigger (tiger) and Thumper (rabbit).
Pirates of the Caribbean

The Pirates of the Caribbean: Battle for the Sunken Treasure at Shanghai Disneyland is unlike the classic versions at other Disney parks. Instead of a traditional boat ride, here you step into a high-tech craft that can move in all directions! This literally puts you right in the middle of the story. This groundbreaking technology makes it the most advanced Pirates attraction in the world and an absolute must-do for every visitor.

The Enchanted Storybook Castle

Unlike other Disney parks, where the castle is usually dedicated to one princess such as Cinderella or Aurora, the Enchanted Storybook Castle at Shanghai Disneyland is a tribute to all Disney princesses. The building is not only the largest castle ever built in a Disney park, but also the most versatile: you can walk through it, see interactive exhibits, visit a restaurant and even take a boat ride under the castle.

Frequently asked questions about Shanghai Disney Resort

Shanghai Disney Resort is the largest Disneyland park in Asia and combines classic magic with Chinese cultural influences. The park has the largest Disney castle in the world (Enchanted Storybook Castle), unique themed areas such as Zootopia and exclusive attractions such as TRON Lightcycle Power Run and Pirates of the Caribbean: Battle for the Sunken Treasure. The mix of technological innovations, cultural details and grand scale makes the park a must-see during a Shanghai vacation.

The resort is located in Pudong, about 30 kilometers from downtown. By subway, take line 11 to the Disneyland Resort station, where you get off right at the entrance. From Shanghai Pudong International Airport, it is about 20 minutes by cab. There are also buses and shuttles from different parts of the city.

Yes, through the official app you can purchase Disney Premier Access. This allows you to skip the queue at popular attractions such as TRON Lightcycle Power Run, Soaring Over the Horizon and Roaring Rapids. Premier Access can be purchased per attraction or as a bundle and is especially recommended during busy periods such as Chinese New Year or Golden Week.

Yes. At Florivida, tickets to Shanghai Disneyland are almost always included in our package tours, along with hotel stays and often transfers. That way you don't have to arrange anything yourself and you're guaranteed access, even during busy periods! For example, combine Shanghai Disney Resort with Hong Kong Disneyland in one trip, including flight, accommodations, tickets and transportation!

Spring (April-May) and autumn (September-October) are the best months, with pleasant temperatures and often fewer crowds. Ultimately, of course, it depends on your own preferences, but this is what we would recommend. Avoid peak periods such as Chinese New Year and Golden Week, when wait times and hotel prices rise.

Yes, the Shanghai Disneyland Hotel is very kid-friendly. It offers spacious rooms, restaurants with Disney characters, a pool and direct access to the park via ferry or walkway. For those looking for a more playful atmosphere, the Toy Story Hotel is ideal. This hotel has many touches from the movies and will be a little more fun for some kids!

Zootopia at Shanghai Disneyland is the world's first and so far only fully themed area that brings to life the bustling animal city from the Disney film. As soon as you step into the area, you immediately notice the rich details, from the skyscrapers to the bus shelters to the smell of freshly baked treats from the bakery.

The highlight for most visitors is Zootopia: Hot Pursuit, an innovative darkride in which you join Judy Hopps and Nick Wilde on a wild chase through various neighborhoods of the city. But there is more than just this attraction. Note, for example, the shop windows and facades: many of them contain funny references and inside jokes from the movie, such as fictional advertisements or nods to characters. The entertainment is also lively, with street performances and unexpected encounters with inhabitants of Zootopia.

At Shanghai Disney Resort you'll find snacks you won't see anywhere else, such as Mickey-shaped mooncakes, matcha ice cream, lotus paste buns and special treats around Chinese holidays. In Zootopia, you can try the famous “Pawpsicles,” and in Treasure Cove, churros with a Caribbean twist are popular.

One day allows you to experience the main attractions, but for a more relaxed pace and seeing shows and parades, two days are ideal. By staying at a Disney hotel, you get additional benefits such as early access to the park.
