The Disney Destiny is the new ship of Disney Cruise Line. Like its sister ships, you'll find on board several restaurants, great theater shows, swimming pools, kids' clubs and quiet places to relax. Everything feels familiar and inviting from the moment you step aboard. Anyone who has ever been to a Disney park will recognize the same quality and atmosphere, but at sea. Taken care of down to the last detail, super welcoming and full of Disney details.

What makes this ship different is its distinct hero and villain theme. You can see that in the décor, restaurants and entertainment designed specifically for this ship. As a result, the Disney Destiny feels fresh and surprising, even if you've taken a cruise with Disney Cruise Line before. It is a new chapter within the fleet, with many elements that you will only encounter on this ship.

Theme and design

The Disney Destiny has a Heroes and Villains theme that you see everywhere. The interior, restaurants and entertainment feature heroes and villains from Hercules, The Incredibles, Black Panther and Cruella, among others. The Grand Hall is the centerpiece of the ship and is dedicated to Marvel and classic Disney stories, with a striking statue of Black Panther, elegant staircases and gold details. On the outside, the ship seamlessly follows suit: Hero Minnie adorns the bow and on the back (stern) is attached Spider-Man with his Spider-Bots.

On board, you will meet a mix of characters such as Black Panther, Spider-Man, Megara and Hercules, Cruella de Vil, Loki and Maleficent. They appear in shows, public areas and during meetings with guests. Disney Destiny has a format similar to the Disney Wish and Disney Treasure, with multiple pools, theaters, themed restaurants and lounges.

Routes and destinations

The Disney Destiny departs from Fort Lauderdale and mainly sails itineraries of four or five nights. These itineraries go to the Bahamas and the Western Caribbean, with a combination of sea days and stops on tropical islands.

Each itinerary includes at least one day on one of Disney's private islands in the Bahamas, Disney Lookout Cay or Disney Castaway Cay. Here you will find beautiful beaches, snorkeling spots, hiking trails, slides and an extensive lunch buffet. Many cabins feature a split-bathroom (two separate areas for tub/shower and toilet), offering added convenience for families. Contiguous cabins are also available, convenient when traveling with a larger party!

On-board facilities

On board the Disney Destiny you will find many facilities for both families and adults. The ship offers multiple restaurants, pools, kid's clubs, lounges and special areas for adults, all in the Heroes and Villains theme. Listed below are the main features.

Food and drink

On board you will dine according to the Rotational Dining Concept. You will change restaurants each night, while the service team travels with you. The main restaurants are:

There are also two signature adults-only restaurants, both by reservation and at an additional charge. Palo Steakhouse with Northern Italian influences and Enchanté, inspired by Beauty and the Beast.

For quick and casual meals, there are cafes, grab-and-go options.... You'll also find themed Adult Only lounges on board such as Café Megara, Haunted Mansion Parlor and De Vil's Lounge.

Shows and entertainment

One of the highlights on board is Disney Hercules, an exclusive musical at the Walt Disney Theatre with updated music, live orchestra and modern effects. Scattered throughout the ship you will find different spaces for performances and activities. Saga hosts family workshops and game shows during the day and at night the space transforms into an adults only lounge with live music and comedy.

In the Hero Zone, families and youth can participate in sports challenges, games and movie sessions. Outside on the deck, you will find several pools and themed play areas. The Toy Story Splash Zone and the Slide a Saurus Rex slide are popular spots for families. There is also the AquaMouse, a water attraction with a special Disney Villains storyline in which you will encounter animations and scenes of famous villains along the way.

For film screenings, there are two cinemas on board: Wonderland Cinema, inspired by Alice in Wonderland, and Never Land Cinema, based on Peter Pan. New Disney and Pixar films as well as classics are shown here.

Zones for children and adults

The Disney Destiny has separate rooms for different ages. In the Oceaneer Club children discover themed rooms such as Cargo Bay with Star Wars elements and the Marvel Super Hero Academy, where young heroes complete assignments and train through play. For youngsters aged about 11 to 14, there is Edge, an informal space with games and creative activities. Older teens can visit Vibe, a relaxed lounge where they can chill out, watch movies and meet other peers.

Adults have their own adults only areas to relax in peace. In addition to the adults only pool with sun beds and sea views, there are several lounges and bars, such as The Vil's Lounge in stylish black and white design, the Haunted Mansion Parlor with a playful ghost theme, Pirates Pub with a relaxed atmosphere and a wide selection of rums and The Sanctum, inspired by Doctor Strange with creative signature drinks. These spaces offer a quiet setting away from the busy family areas.

Castaway Cay is one of the 2 private islands of Disney Cruise Line and for many is one of the most special stops during a Disney Cruise. Open exclusively to Disney ships, the island is a perfect combination of Disney magic and Caribbean atmospheres.

What sets Castaway Cay apart from other cruise islands is the combination of natural beaches and the recognizable Disney touch. You walk directly off the ship onto the island, with no tender boats, and everything is set up so you can explore the island on foot. From quiet adults-only beaches to activities for families. 

Location and accessibility

Castaway Cay is part of the island group of the Bahamas, south of Great Abaco Island, and was developed especially for Disney Cruise Line. You don't have to take tender boats to the shore, but rather step right off the ship onto the island. 

The island is visited on cruises heading to the Bahamas and the Caribbean. Depending on the itinerary, you usually spend a full day at anchor here, giving you plenty of time to both relax and get active.

What to do on the island

You can make a day on Castaway Cay as active or relaxed as you like. The island is clearly laid out, making it easy to switch between beach, activities, shopping and dining. Everything is within walking distance of the pier and clearly marked, making for a wonderfully relaxing day. A shuttle also runs across the island.

Castaway Family Beach

This beach is the focal point for families on Castaway Cay. Here everything is about having fun together, with space for swimming, sunbathing and being active. You can snorkel, kayak or sail in the lagoon, while kids have fun at water play areas and sports fields. Around lunchtime, this is also one of the liveliest spots on the island, with the barbecue buffet and entertainment nearby.

Serenity Bay

Serenity Bay is exclusively for adults and is further away from the pier, which immediately provides a quieter atmosphere. This part of the island is geared toward relaxation, with comfortable sunbeds, clear waters and its own barbecue restaurant. For those who want to go a step further in relaxation, there are massages and refreshing drinks at the beach bar for a fee.

Scuttle's Cove

Scuttle's Cove is specially equipped for younger children and is supervised by the same Disney Youth Activities counselors as aboard the ship. Here children can participate in games, sports activities and scavenger hunts. A nice place for kids to let off steam and for parents to take some time for themselves.

Pelican Plunge

Pelican Plunge is a water platform in the sea with two slides that emerge into a lagoon. This attraction is accessible to different ages and provides a fun change between beach and swimming.

Character Interactions

You can meet Disney characters at various places on the island. These encounters are spread throughout the day and are announced in the Disney Cruise Line App. Especially for families, this is a nice extra that gives the day on Castaway Cay that extra bit of magic.

Disney Castaway Cay 5K

For sporty cruise travelers, there is the 5-kilometer trail that runs across the island. The route passes beaches and ‘deserted’ parts of the island. Those who finish the run will receive a special Castaway Cay 5K medal.

Teen Hideout

Teens aged 14 to 17 have their own meeting place at Castaway Cay. Here they can play games and chill with peers, without parents or younger children around. This complements the teen clubs aboard Disney ships.

Sports Beach

Sports Beach is the place for beach activities such as volleyball, tetherball and soccer. It is an approachable meeting place where you can easily join other travelers for a sporty moment in between.

Disney Castaway Cay Post Office

Near the pier is the island's post office. Here you can send postcards and letters stamped with a special Castaway Cay postmark. Many travelers send themselves a card as a tangible reminder of this special stop.

Eating and drinking on the island

During a day on Castaway Cay, you don't have to return to the ship for lunch. There are several barbecue restaurants on the island where you can go for a sumptuous meal. This lunch is included with your Disney Cruise.

The restaurants are scattered around the island, so you can always eat near your beach or activity. For adults, Serenity Bay has its own eatery with a quiet setting, while families can go mainly to the restaurants around Family Beach. Scattered around the island are drinking points where you can easily get water or soft drinks.

Practical tips for your day on the island

• Disembark early - In the morning the beaches are quieter and you have more choice of sunbeds and shaded areas.

• Choose your beach consciously - If you are traveling without children, then the adults-only section is often more pleasant. For a family, you'll be closer to activities if you choose Family Beach.

Disney Lookout Cay at Lighthouse Point is an exclusive Disney destination on the coast of Eleuthera in the Bahamas. Although often described as a private island, Lookout Cay is located on the mainland and is fully equipped as a cruise destination for Disney Cruise Line guests.

What sets Disney Lookout Cay apart is its clear focus on nature and Bahamian culture. Location and accessibility

Lookout Cay at Lighthouse Point is located on the south coast of Eleuthera, one of the larger islands in the Bahamas. Disney Cruise ships dock here at a specially constructed pier, which, like Castaway Cay, allows you to disembark without tender boats. From the pier you'll be taken by walking trails and streetcars to the various parts of the Disney area.

Because Lookout Cay is part of Eleuthera, the Disney destination is in a more natural and open environment. At the same time, the property remains fully enclosed and exclusively accessible to Disney Cruise guests.

Lookout Cay is set up as a relaxed beach destination with plenty of space and attention to nature and culture. 

Family Beach

Located right on the coast of Eleuthera, Family Beach is set up for a relaxing beach day with the whole family. Sunbeds, umbrellas and towels are provided, as are food and drinks.

Serenity Bay

Serenity Bay is the adults-only beach at Disney Lookout Cay and offers a peaceful setting for adults who consciously seek relaxation and rest. You'll find comfortable lounging areas, blue seawater and a private dining area. Private cabanas are available for a fee, allowing you to spend the day in peace and privacy.

Sebastian's Cove

Sebastian's Cove is geared toward younger children and combines water fun with supervised activities. The splash zone is inspired by The Little Mermaid and supervised by Disney counselors. Children can play safely here, while parents have the freedom to relax elsewhere on Lookout Cay.

Signature Disney Entertainment

Scattered throughout the day, the beach hosts interactive entertainment moments. Think dancing, games and encounters with Disney characters, accompanied by music with a Bahamian influence.

Rush Out Gush Out Water Play

This water area is designed for families and offers play features such as fountains and slides. It is an active change from the beach and especially popular with families looking to cool off on tropical hot days.

BBQ Lunch

For lunch, visit the barbecue restaurants on Lookout Cay. Grilled dishes are served here, complemented by side dishes inspired by Bahamian cuisine. Lunch is included with a Disney Cruise and the restaurant is centrally located on the island.

Serenity Bay BBQ

The Nature Trail
