Day Program

The exact sailing dates (in 2026) can be found with the itinerary. The duration of your trip before or after the cruise is flexible and can be adjusted as desired. Simply indicate your preferred duration of travel with your request!

Day 1

Off to the sun! Today you leave the Netherlands behind and fly to tropical Miami! Think: palm trees, sun and a nice breeze at the beach. After arriving at the airport in Miami or Fort Lauderdale, you travel on your own to your hotel in Miami Beach. Would you rather have this arranged in advance? Then we can arrange this transfer for you for an additional fee.

As soon as you step outside, you immediately have that vacation feeling: warm air, ocean views and a city that is bustling. Stroll down Ocean Drive, let the sand slide between your toes or splash in the lovely pool of your hotel. The tone is set: the next few days are all about sun, relaxation and anticipation because after Miami, the next adventure begins aboard the Disney Destiny!

Miami Beach

Day 2-3

Before embarking on the Disney Destiny, you'll have plenty of time to explore sunny Miami. Start your morning on Miami Beach, where your feet touch the warm sand and the ocean invites you for a refreshing swim. Rent a bike and explore Ocean Drive!

In the mood for culture? Stroll through Wynwood Walls, an explosion of outdoor street art, or immerse yourself in the rhythms of Little Havana in Cuban atmospheres. Shopping enthusiasts can indulge in the hip Lincoln Road Mall or chic Bal Harbour. More in need of nature? Take a trip to the Everglades and ride an airboat among the alligators through the marshlands.

End your day with dinner by the sea or a tropical cocktail under the stars. Miami is a wonderful destination and the perfect warm-up for the magical adventure ahead!

Miami Beach - Ocean Drive Florida

Day 4

Today is the day: your cruise adventure begins! After a few wonderful days in Miami, you will travel on your own to the port of Fort Lauderdale, where the brand new Disney Destiny is waiting for you. Just the sight of the ship will give you jitters. This is where the next adventure full of magic and relaxation begins!

Upon arrival at the terminal, check in, receive your personal boarding pass and board a floating paradise. Take your time to explore the ship, have lunch at one of the restaurants or take your first dip in the pool.

At 3 p.m. the departure signal sounds: the ship leaves port and sets sail for Mexico. On the upper deck, celebrate the start of your cruise at the festive Sail Away Party. Along with music, dancing and, of course, your favorite Disney friends, the magic has officially begun!

Disney Destiny Mickey and Minnie

    Day 5-8

Day 1 - A magical day at sea
Today is all about relaxing and enjoying yourself aboard the Disney Destiny. Take a dip in the pool, zoof down the AquaMouse or explore the ship full of Disney details. In the evening, enjoy an atmospheric dinner and perhaps a drink in the Pirates of the Caribbean bar!

Day 2 - Culture and sun in Mexico
In Cozumel, discover tropical beaches, colorful culture and extraordinary underwater worlds. Snorkel at Playa San Francisco Beach, visit the Museo de Cozumel or browse the stores in the Port Shopping District. Or beFind the enchanting Xcaret, an ecological park combining nature, culture and attractions.

Florivida recommends booking excursions to mainland Mexico only through the shipping company and not doing so on your own.

Day 3 - Enjoying the sea
A second day at sea means even more time to relax and have fun. Go to the movies, participate in a creative workshop or enjoy a Broadway show at the theater. In between, treat yourself to great food, sunshine on the deck and that magical Disney atmosphere.

Day 4 - Castaway Cay: your private paradise
Today the Disney Destiny docks at Castaway Cay, Disney's private tropical island. Relax in a hammock, snorkel in the clear waters or participate in the Castaway Cay 5K. After a day of sun and sea, end your trip festively on board with dinner and entertainment under the stars.

      General information

Time: The United States has several time zones. The time difference with the Netherlands depends on where you are staying. In most places, time is adjusted at the same time as here in the Netherlands.

      • New York: 6 hours earlier
      • Florida (Orlando, Miami): 6 hours earlier
      • West Coast (e.g., Los Angeles and San Francisco): 9 hours earlier

Language: the official language in the United States is English and is therefore spoken there by default. Spanish is also widely spoken in major & southern cities.

Voltage: 110 volts, 60 Hz. It is necessary to bring a world plug, that way you can be sure you can charge your devices anywhere.

Currency: The official currency in the United States is the United States Dollar (USD). One Euro is approximately 1.16 Dollars. One Dollar is about 0.86 Euro (December, 2025). One Dollar consists of 100 cents. The exchange rate varies, therefore it is always wise to check it before departure.

      Communications

Telephoning in the United States: The mobile network is generally excellent. Keep in mind that providers may charge high roaming fees when using a European SIM card. For many data and calling uses, it may be more economical to purchase a local SIM card or an e-SIM through Airalo, for example.

Internet in the United States: almost all hotels, restaurants and public buildings offer free wifi. In large cities, many wifi hotspots are available.

      Food and Drink

Tap water is safe to drink in most parts of the United States, but bottled water is available everywhere. American cuisine is varied, with influences from all over the world. In major cities, you will find a wide range of international cuisines, ranging from Asian and Italian to Mexican and Middle Eastern. In addition, fast food restaurants and food courts in shopping malls are everywhere.

      Money matters/Trophies

International credit cards (Visa, Mastercard, American Express) are accepted almost everywhere. Debit cards as we often use them in the Netherlands do not work in all locations. It is recommended that you always bring a credit card.

Automatic teller machines (ATMs) are widely available, but transaction fees may be charged for foreign bank cards. When making payments with a European bank card, it is more economical to opt for settlement in dollars rather than euros.

Tips are common in the United States and often an important part of the income of service personnel. The guidelines are:

      • Restaurants: 15-20% of the bill (unless service charges are included)
      • Cabs: 10-15%
      • Hotel staff (luggage carriers, chambermaids): $1-5 per shift

      Sales Tax

In the United States, consumer prices are shown exclusive of sales tax. This means that VAT is still added to the prices shown. This applies to both goods and services.

      Border documents and health

Visa: Dutch and Belgian nationals can travel to the United States under the Visa Waiver Program (VWP), provided they apply for an ESTA travel authorization in advance. An ESTA must be applied for online at least 72 hours before departure and is valid for up to two years. You can easily apply for it through the official website of the American government.

Legitimation: a valid Dutch or Belgian passport is required. This passport must still be valid for at least six months upon departure from the US.

Health: make sure you have good travel insurance, as medical care in the United States is very expensive. Vaccinations are generally not required, but it is recommended to check the latest guidelines.

      Climate

The United States has different climate zones, temperatures and humidity depends on which place you are going to visit.

      • East Coast (New York, Washington D.C.): temperate climate with warm summers and cold winters.
      • Southern states (Florida, Texas): warm summers, mild winters and in some areas a tropical climate.
      • West Coast (California): Mediterranean climate with hot, dry summers and mild, wet winters.
      • Northern states and Midwest: harsh winters with lots of snow, especially around the Great Lakes.
      • Desert regions (Arizona, Nevada): very hot summers and cool winters. The best travel time depends on the region you are visiting.

      Transportation

Cars are widely used in the United States. Most tourists and locals get around by rental car, this is especially important outside the major cities. There is an extensive road network and the roads are well maintained. However, it is possible that traffic regulations vary from state to state, always keep a close eye on this.

      Cab and public transportation:

      • In cities like New York, Orlando and San Francisco, cabs and Uber/Lyft are popular modes of transportation. This is easily arranged through the Uber or Lyft app.
      • Public transportation is well established in cities such as New York and Washington D.C. with subway and bus networks. In smaller cities and outside urban areas, public transportation is more limited.
